I thought it might be useful to explain what is going on in the Senate this AM. It is pretty telling as to how much the Senate Dems want to run away from their constituents and the President and his tax policies.

Background:

Sen. Reid introduced a Senate bill to provide certain small business tax relief when they hired new employees as well has depreciation tax credit. The vote yesterday was 80 to 14 to move to proceed to this small business tax bill. Most of the Senate GOP joined the Senate Dems in wanting to begin this debate notwithstanding the fact that all "money bills" (bills that raise revenue, fund government agencies, etc..) must originate in the House per our Constitution.

This morning, Sen. McConnell offered a consent agreement to continue to move the bill forward. It goes like this:

--Vote on a Hatch/McConnell amdt to the bill which extends for 1 year all of the Bush tax cuts from 2001 and 2003 that expire Dec. 31, 2012 and directs the Finance committee to begin writing comprehensive tax reform

--Vote on the Obama tax plan announced this week allowing only the Bush tax cuts for those making under $250K to be extended for 1 year. All other tax provisions that have been enjoyed since 2001 would expire Dec. 31, 2012.

Senator Reid objected to this agreement. The obvious conclusion is that the 16 Senate Democratic seats up for relection are afraid of casting a vote against continuing all of the Bush tax cuts, notwithstanding yesterday's visit by David Axelrod's to the Senate Democratic caucus luncheon to appeal for unity behind the President.

Since the 16 Senate Democrats don't want their constituents to know how they would vote on these issues, what if GG members called the 16 Senate Democrats and asked them how they would vote on the President's tax proposal vs the Hatch/McConnell tax proposal? The list is below:

Democrats/Independents seeking re-election Capitol switchboard: 1-202-224-3121

Dianne Feinstein of California
Tom Carper of Delaware
Bill Nelson of Florida
Ben Cardin of Maryland
Debbie Stabenow of Michigan
Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota
Claire McCaskill of Missouri
Jon Tester of Montana
Bob Menendez of New Jersey
Kirsten Gillibrand of New York
Sherrod Brown of Ohio
Bob Casey, Jr. of Pennsylvania
Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island
Bernie Sanders of Vermont (Independent)
Maria Cantwell of Washington
Joe Manchin of West Virginia

Keep the faith!

The Honorable Elizabeth B.
Remember Obama's stmnt from last week: "If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”
Our President was trying to say that the Government is responsible, from teachers to roads, it is the government to who you owe your success. WHAT? The President has it exactly 180 degrees wrong...the government owes business, not business owing government. Think about it:

--What happens every April 15--we pay taxes to the government having worked most likely for a business
--What happens after the 1st quarter of the year-Businesses pay 1st quarter taxes to the government
--What happens aftre the 2nd quarter of the year-Businesses pay 2nd quarter taxes, 3rd quarter and 4th quarter, all the same occurs
--What happens to every pay check you recieve-Your business withholds Social Security and federal income tax from your checks and pays it to the government
--What happens every time we put a gallon of gasoline in our vehciles--we pay a portion of the cost of the gasoline to the government
--What happens everytime we buy a product--we pay sales tax on that item to the government

Soooo... without the American business, who employ people who buy gasoline and buy goods and services in America, the government has NOTHING. It has no money to build roads, to pay teachers, etc...Once again, our President obviously doesn't "get it", he has it wrong. This is America's core, America's DNA and our President has it exactly backwards. So very sad for our country. Pls vote on Nov. 6 and keep the faith!

Senate needs to start DISCLOSING now!

I am guessing that most of us don't care that the Senate failed to begin debate on the DISCLOSE act. This is a bill that Sen. Reid has asked the Senate to bring up 4 different times lately. All 4 times the Senate said NO. I think I would be right if I said that Americans care about the Senate DISCLOSING their views on other pieces of legislation. How about DISCLOSING how the Senate would vote on some of these bills:

--The Senate Budget resolution. A annual Budget is required by law to be passed each year. Yet the Senate Democrats have not DISCLOSED to the American people a budget resolution in the last 3 years

--Appropriations bills. These bills are required to fund all of our federal agencies and this legislative task is explicitly described in our Constitution as a "to-do" for Congress. The Senate Democratic Leader has announced that the Senate will not DISCLOSE to the American people how Senators will vote on any of these 12 bills that fund our entire federal government

--An extension of the Bush tax cuts. The Senate Democratic Leader objected last week to my request to have the Senate DISCLOSE to the American people how Senators would vote to extend all or some of the expiring tax provisions that will cause dozens of tax provisions to expire and thus lead to tax increases beginning in Jan. of 2013

--The defense authorization bill. For over 50 years the Senate has passed an annual authorization bill for our defense department. The defense community and our men and women in the armed forces deserve to have their Senators DISCLOSE to them how they would vote on the hundreds of policies that run our department of defense

--A vote to keep the child tax credit from being cut in half. This significant tax deduction for families will disappear in Jan. The American people want the Senate to DISCLOSE how they would vote on cutting the child tax credit

--A vote to patch the Alternative minimum tax. 30 million taxpayers will have to pay a new and additional tax if this AMT is not delayed or "patched". The American people want the Senate to DISCLOSE how Senators would vote on taxing 30 million new Americans beginning in 2013

--A vote to reimburse doctors when they see Medicare patients. The American people and the medical community want the Senate to DISCLOSE how they would vote to fully reimburse doctors for seeing Medicare patients or to cut their reimbursement rate 23% beginning in Jan. of 2013

--A bill to address the across-the-board $1.2 trillion spending sequester. The Senate Democratic Leadership has DISCLOSED that they will insist that these cuts go into effect in January unless the Republicans agree to raise taxes on Americans making over $200,000.

Let's DISCLOSE to the American people how the United States Senate will handle these vital policy questions that effect every American household and every American business. Then maybe the Senate republicans would be ready to vote to proceed to the DISCLOSE act, which requires certain disclosure of campaign contributions. Which DISCLOSURE do you want the United States Senate reveal?

The Honorable Elizabeth B.
The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) would extract global tax payments from the United States and transfer the revenue and the U.S. technology that generated it to Third World nations.
“Under the treaty, the transfer of these funds does not end with nation states,” they write. “These royalty revenues would even be extended to ‘peoples who have not attained full independence or other self-governing status.’ That means groups like the Palestinian Authority and potentially other groups with terrorist ties.
“Ceding authority to the International Seabed Authority in Jamaica (ISA) would mean that the sovereignty currently held by the U.S. over the natural resources located on large parts of the continental shelf would be lost. That loss would mean lost revenue for the U.S. government in the form of lost royalties that the U.S. government collects from the production of those resources,” the senators write.
Estimates are that the resources have a value in the range of “trillions.”
Top officials such as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey have argued on behalf of the treaty before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
It seems that most Democrats want to go to socialism or a New World Order. I do not think that most Americans want to be ruled by a small group of rich and powerful people who do not care about anyone but themselves and how much profit they can make for themselves. Please write, call, or e-mail your Congressmen/women and tell them do NOT vote for LOST. Let us keep America the Home of the Free and the Brave.
Thank you Elizabeth. After listening to your radio program Congressional Candor, I know how Congress deals weekly with issues of economic/social/national security. More importantly Congressional Candor helps me to learn how Congress could/should be using our American system of checks and balances to address those concerns more effectively. It is time for citizens to hold our elected officials accountable for what they do, day after day, as they “serve.” Follow the rules of the game ladies and gentlemen of Congress!
Since the U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced publically that he would not ask the Senate to debate and adopt a budget, this marks the 3rd year in a row that our Congress will operate the federal government without the blue print it provides. How would you like to work for a company that didn't adopt a budget? How would you like it if your city or county didn't adopt a budget? Would you be a bit nervous about making a large purchase?
The Senate is in violation of the 1974 Congressional Budget and Impoundment law but no one seems to care enough to even mention it on nationwide TV. This makes me want to throw out the current bunch of MOC out of office. What say you?

Reasons to abolish Dept. of Education
We can thank our second worst president Jimmy Carter for recreating the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96-88) and signed into law on October 17, 1979, it began operating on May 16, 1980. American education is in crisis. Every year, millions of children pass through America’s schools without receiving a quality education that prepares them to succeed in life, compete in the increasingly competitive global economy, and maintain the blessings and responsibilities of a free society. It also imperils our national security.

Went http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_minimum_passing_grade_for_high_school_exit_exam
and asked, What is the minimum passing grade for high school exit exam?
Minimum passing grade in most schools is, 66 that means you pass.
Well way back in the dark ages when I went to school if you did not get 75 or above you failed, and to be quite honest I would prefer a teacher or a doctor that passed with 75 or up above not at 66.

Our schools are not even teaching our children what really happened on 9/11. In the text books they have it down as group of men merely fighting for a cause instead of telling them it was radical Muslim extremist that killed over 3,000 people because of some idiot saying this is not politically correct. It is not politically correct to tell the truth anymore. Bull!
Since the progressives have taken over written and publishing school text books they have decided that people like George Washington, Madison, Jefferson and few others are not really important enough for the history of America.
Here is another example of why the federal government should not be involved in our schools.
In a recent “informal open letter” to employers across the country, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) stated that requiring that applicants have a high school diploma is excluding those who were unable to graduate due to a learning disability.
It is an insult to those who struggle to overcome their disabilities to be compared to the people who just couldn’t be bothered to tear themselves away from their smoke-filled basements and go to class. Perhaps this wasn’t the intention of the EEOC’s letter, but that is the result. They aren’t asked that the job applications be marked “diploma negotiable” — after discussion about the equivalent experience that someone could have that would qualify them for the job in place of their diploma — but that it be deleted altogether.

Time we the America Voters and Tax Payer told the federal government what they can and cannot do. We are the sovereignty and we give the federal government permission to do what we say, not the other way around. (See our Constitution Amendment X).
Let us all write, call, e-mail our federal officials and State officials and demand that the Department of Education at the federal level be abolished and let each State and local counties, and towns handle the education of our children.
