Channel S's Email to Representative John P. Sarbanes

04/30/2009 10:38

I gave you a grade of F.

Mr. Sarbanes,
As my representative in Congress, I expect you to be responsible.  You work for us, not the President.  Congress is part of a system of checks and balances.  The idea that Congressmen would blindly follow even the most popular president is deplorable.

Let me first clarify one fact.  ANY money you spend comes from Americans.  Every single penny of spending comes from the pockets of Americans.  Every penny!  Money from cap and trade eventually will come from Americans in the form of higher costs for energy and goods that rely on energy or fuel for creation or delivery.  Money that comes from taxes comes directly from our paychecks.  Money that is printed or written into government checkbooks will eventually impact Americans in the form of Inflation which is an insidious tax that doesn't show up until the cause is long forgotten.  Money borrowed from other nations creates debt which Americans have to pay.  None of it is free.

Please read the previous paragraph again slowly.  It is very important!

Your first concern should be the costs and impacts of proposed spending on your constituents.
Your second concern should be on whether we are spending on things that are worthy and in ways that are wise.

You have failed in both duties.
For you to vote to spend $78 without reading where the $78 would go or considering the impact on your constituency is thourally irresponsible.

The fact is that the spending was not $78.  It was not $780,000. It was $780,000,000,000.  It is my firm belief that you will be fired in 2010 if you do not resign before then.

This constitutes an unconscionable betrayal of your district and any normal person who had committed such an atrocity would already have wished himself out of existance in order to escape the horrible oppressive sense of guilt and remorse.

Yours Sincerely,
Channel Sanderson

An American Voter in your district
